Getting My Tail Into College and Other Really Important Stuff are college planners that simplify the entire college process. Available now, one planner is dedicated to Juniors and the other focuses on Seniors. Each consists of 146 pages filled with weekly interactive calendars detailing the college timeline from start to finish. They highlight individual college planning, help students organize and prepare for testing (SAT, ACT, PSAT), offer guidance with writing college essays, underscore resumes, give study skill tips, direct the college research, offer financial aid guidelines, and provide useful college forms and other valuable tips.

  • Look at your schedule. Have balance and challenge.
  • Do you feel confident that you will make strong grades? Colleges examine your junior schedule to see if you have academic stamina.
  • Talk with your teachers/guidance counselor. They know your capabilities and will offer their expertise.
  • Check what colleges will be visiting your school and attend those meetings that interest you.
  • Prepare for the PSATs offered October 17.
  • Are you on track for graduation? Adjust your schedule so that it fulfills your school's requirements. Have a balance.
  • Sign up for the October SATs and ACTs at www.collegeboard.com and www.act.org. Review Geometry, Algebra I & II books and notes 10 minutes each night. Take free practice tests offered on these websites.
  • Colleges want you to pursue classes in all five academic areas.
  • When colleges visit your schools, or have regional meetings, attend those of interest. Ask your counselor for dates.
  • Talk to your teachers who will write your recommendations, and give them the required forms. Haven't asked, yet? Do so quickly and respectfully.
  • The College Scholarship Service Profile is available in your Counselor's office. You can also register online at www.collegeboard.com.

Presently, she has several schools from the Richmond, Henrico, and Chesterfield areas who are successfully using these planners to raise money. The set-up is easy, efficient, and effective.
